The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is an excellent choice if you're looking for an affordable mop and robot vacuum. It gives a great mopping experience but lacks the advanced features of its more expensive sibling.
During testing it was able to take on dust and dry oats on carpets of medium pile as well as pet hair on hard flooring. It doesn't employ LIDAR however, like cheaper models do, to map your home.
1. IRobot Roomba S9+
The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the top-rated robot vacuums. It has a lot of features and impressive cleaning power, such as an area for dirt that is integrated into the base of charging. The robot also learns your cleaning habits and suggest automatic schedules for a truly hands-free experience.
The iRobot Home App guides you through the setup process. Once the system is setup it can begin cleaning automatically with just one button press. You can choose a general clean that prioritizes getting rid of larger pieces of debris such as rice and cereal, or opt for two thorough mappings of your area to ensure your entire home has a clean and tidy appearance.
This robot vacuum is effective on both floors that are bare and low-pile carpet. It is able to take large objects and does not lose suction as fast as other models do, and it can even pick up pet hair without difficulty. It has a difficult time with high-pile or plush carpet, but iRobot claims it will improve with future models.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot that is focused on improving edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba that adopts a flat-fronted D-shaped design. The company hopes this will allow it to fit into walls and furniture. It's a nice improvement over the hockey puck-like design of the majority of robovacs. However, we discovered it to be only marginally better than circular models.
iRobot claims that the S9+ also comes with an advanced filtration system which blocks microscopic particles and allergens recirculating within your home. We think it's a nice statement, but not enough to justify a premium price.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors to keep track of the layout of your home and vSLAM to map the interior. It then cleans your entire home efficiently by avoiding obstacles like stairs and other barriers. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and set virtual boundary markers so that the robot knows what areas require extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it is about robots that can combine vacuuming and mopping the Roborock Q Revo stands out. Its vacuum settings are just as good as those found on higher-end models. Its mopping system is even better because its spinning pads scrub your floors much more efficiently than the vibrating pads.
The only downside is that it lacks an additional rubber brush for more thorough cleaning, but that's a small cost to pay if want one of the best robots on the market. The dust tank on the robovac is larger than many of its competitors. Filling it up takes only two or three cycles, even when you have maximum dirt.
As for the mopping system, I was impressed by its ability to scrub tough dirt off my floors. Its two mopping modes at the lowest, which are less aggressive than the high-powered ones, generate little noise, allowing you to work or even watch television without interruption. It will gently hit a wall or furniture and then move away when it encounters one.
The Q Revo is unique in that it operates almost completely on its own, with no user involvement. The dock of the robo-vac is multifunctional and can automatically transfer garbage into a bin hidden. It also washes and dries the clean water tank. The app will only notify you if something is wrong, such as the water tank being empty or a cancelled vacuuming session due to the bin being full.
You can also create or combine actual rooms in order to customize the way that Q Revo treats your home. This is an excellent feature if you have multiple rooms in your home that have different floor materials or if there's clutter that must be cleaned out frequently, like clothes, toys, and books. The robot vacuum was also among the top performers in my test cleaning up debris from carpets and hardwood floors on the first go. It is able to even remove wet spills however I would recommend drying them with a damp cloth prior to sending the robot into.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum combo that has all the features you could need. Like the iRobot Roomba S9+, it comes with a powerful vacuum with a powerful suction that cleans carpets and hard floors, and the mop's rotating design that can scrub tough staining. It also has an auto-cleaning base station that automatically empties and washes mop pads, keeping them germ-free and ready for use again. It also has a sensor that recognizes obstacles better which allows it to avoid falling on furniture and other objects.
The biggest difference over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this model has a sleeker, more modern design due to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for its Bang & Olufsen products). The robot is still big. It is more than two feet in height and depth and weighs in at least four pounds. However the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.
This model is also more efficient than the X1 version, since it has faster battery charging and can handle a complete cleaning of about 1,500 square feet with just one charge. It also has a bigger and more robust dustbin that can store more debris. This makes it easier to empty.
The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant and an app that is functional even if you are not at home. It also has additional mopping modes as well as a smart routing feature that allows you to clean certain rooms or areas of your home instead just following a specific path.
The X2 Omni has the top mopping performance of any robot we've tested due to its mop pads that rotate to scrub away tough stains and a motor that creates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is also outstanding, and it also increases suction when it senses a carpet to ensure a thorough cleaning. It comes with a huge, rechargeable battery that can last up to a week. The mopping mode of the robot is also extremely effective.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a high-end mop and robot vacuum that comes with a variety of convenience features that you do not often find on robots in this price. It can create precise floor maps and recognize various flooring types. It's also among the only robots that automatically clean and dry its mop pad. These features are nice however they can make the L10s more of a class of luxury. This could make it more expensive than what homeowners would need.
The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaning machine. It's tall and slim, with a white finish, accentuated by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is adorned with an impressive bumper that protects the furniture and vacuum cleaner as you move around your home. Behind the pane at the front is additional navigation technology with sensors that aid the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the screen, you'll find one button that basically acts as an on/off switch. Pressing this will activate the vacuum, and pressing it again will turn off the vacuum and send it back to its robotic cleaner and mop base station. The circular menu located in the middle of the control panel lets you to select cleaning modes, schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons allow you to access the settings in the app, which allow you to customize how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
The L10s Ultra, like the iRobot Roomba S9+ or Roborock Q Revo uses a combination of cameras and LIDAR technology to map out your home. This creates a precise floor plan that enables the robot vacuum and mop with ease, without getting stuck in areas with clutter. The LIDAR also assists the robot vacuum to recognize and avoid obstacles which is a great feature for families with children or pets.
The L10s Ultra is a powerful vacuum cleaner, removing 98.4 percent of debris from our test on hard floors and taking out all but stubborn juice stains. Its mops also do a great job in removing 98.4 percent of debris from our carpet, tile and wood tests. It was not as efficient in removing sand from the hard flooring or quaker oats off the carpet.
